Happy New Year everyone!
According to a Forbes article posted today, over 60% of adult Americans make New Year’s resolutions, and 44% of that group believe that those goals are within reach.
I’m not one who makes resolutions per se, but I do have a kind of to-do list for 2020. Here’s a sample:
Go to the gym three days a week
Finish writing and publish my current book project, Colorado: Diary of a Solo Traveler, by mid-May
Write and post at least two blog posts per month
Do something with my YouTube channel (one idea—a book review show called “In The Library”)
Speaking of books, read at least 24 books (including books read for audiobook jobs)
Speaking of audiobooks, be hired for and record at least 6 audiobooks over the course of the year (not including the audiobook version of my book)
Teach at least one semester/term of an online college level course (one can do this with a Masters)
Research and start planning how to become an on-board cruise ship lecturer
Start getting paid freelance writing work
You may notice that some of the employment-related items are freelance, or, if you will, make me my own boss. This is on purpose. As noted in a previous blog, I am now a man of a certain age. I feel like if I don’t start moving in this direction now, I may never do so. Like they say—-there’s no time like the present.
So, wish me luck. And I wish you luck in all your 2020 plans. Let’s make this the best year, and, for that matter, the best decade of all.
